Train Collides with Truck Near Chýnov: Four Injured, One Seriously

On Thursday afternoon, a passenger train collided with a truck at a level crossing near Dobronice, close to the village of Chýnov in the Tábor region. According to Martin Kavka, spokesman for the Railway Administration, one person suffered serious injuries, while three others sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The collision caused one carriage of the multiple-unit train to derail. Twenty passengers had been on board, and rescuers evacuated 25 people from the train in total.

According to Vojtěch Míra, spokesman for the South Bohemian Rescue Service, the truck driver suffered serious injuries but remained conscious — he was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital in České Budějovice. Three train passengers with minor and moderate injuries were taken to hospital by ambulance crews.

Train traffic on the line between Chýnov and Tábor — part of the route connecting Jihlava and Tábor — has been temporarily suspended due to the accident. According to the Czech Railways website, the disruption is expected to last until approximately 4:00 PM. Kavka noted that police will first establish the circumstances of the crash, after which Railway Administration specialists will return the derailed carriage to the tracks.
