Drugstores in Czechia: dm, Rossmann, Teta — which one saves you more

Updated: 18.07.2026

A drogerie (drogerie) in Czechia is a store selling cosmetics, household chemicals, hygiene products and home essentials, and the country's three main chains are dm, Rossmann and Teta. In short: dm keeps stable long-term prices and is famous for its own brands, Rossmann excels at baby products and promotions, while Teta is the chain with the most stores overall — and in a 2026 price comparison it actually came out cheaper than both dm and Rossmann.

Below we break down the range of products, prices, the dm active beauty, ROSSMANN CLUB and Teta klub loyalty programs, diapers, and online shops — so you'll know exactly where to buy what for the best price.

What Czech drugstores sell

All three chains carry a similar range: laundry detergents and cleaning products, skin and hair care, makeup, hygiene items, baby products and diapers, pet food, vitamins and supplements, plus a bit of food — BIO products, baby food, tea, snacks. Important: drugstores do not sell medicine — for that you need a lékárna (pharmacy).

The three chains: a quick comparison

ChainStores in CzechiaLoyalty programMain feature

Rossmannover 215ROSSMANN CLUB + kids' Rossmánekfrequent promotions, Babydream baby brand
Tetaover 500 plus around 100 TOP drogerie outletsTeta klubthe widest coverage, often the lowest prices

Store counts come from the chains' 2025–2026 reports: dm had 261 stores for the 2024/25 fiscal year, Rossmann opened 23 new ones in 2025 alone, and Teta had 511 outlets in 2025. These figures keep shifting as the chains keep expanding.

dm drogerie markt: stable prices instead of promotions

The German chain dm has deliberately moved away from classic promotions. Instead, it runs the dm dlouhodobé ceny (long-term prices) system: once a price is lowered, it won't rise again for at least 4 months, covering more than 15,000 items; for over 6,000 products the price hasn't gone up in over a year. In other words, you don't need to chase discounts — the price is equally good any day of the week.

The dm active beauty loyalty program runs through the free Moje dm app: every 25 Kč spent earns 1 point, 200 points can be exchanged for a 50 Kč discount, and points are valid for 36 months. The key feature is eKupony: activate a coupon in the app before paying to earn multiplied points on selected categories. Since May 2025, there's also dm babybonus — personalized eKupony and tips for pregnant women and parents, with content tailored to your pregnancy trimester or your child's age, activated in the same app.

dm's own brands are the chain's biggest selling point: Balea (body and hair care), alverde (natural cosmetics), Denkmit (household chemicals), babylove (baby products), Mivolis (vitamins), Dontodent (dental care), ebelin (accessories). In consumer tests they often hold their own against name brands costing two to three times as much.

Rossmann: promotions and baby products

Rossmann operates over 215 stores in Czechia and keeps expanding: in 2026 the chain is finishing a logistics center near Prague — its single biggest investment in 30 years of operating in the country. Its strategy is the opposite of dm's: regular letáky (promo flyers) with discounts on name brands.

The ROSSMANN CLUB program is free: every 100 Kč spent earns 1 point (valid for 12 months), registration gets you a −10% discount on your first purchase (valid even on promo items), plus a −10% discount throughout your birthday month and monthly club discounts. Accumulated points can be exchanged for 50–100 Kč coupons or 10–20% discounts. There's also a separate kids' program, Rossmánek, for expecting mothers and parents of children up to age 6 (membership automatically ends on the youngest child's sixth birthday), offering discounts on baby items.

Own brands: Isana (cosmetics), Babydream (baby products and diapers), Domol (household chemicals), Alterra (natural cosmetics), enerBIO (food products).

Teta: the Czech chain with the widest reach

Teta is a Czech chain (operated by p.k. Solvent): over 500 Teta stores plus around a hundred TOP drogerie outlets. Teta reaches even small towns that dm and Rossmann haven't gotten to. Price is the chain's ace card: in an independent 2026 laundry detergent price test, Teta came out cheaper than both dm and Rossmann.

Teta klub is free: you earn points on purchases — as of July 13, 2026, that's 1 point per 50 Kč (previously per 40 Kč). Points can be exchanged for −10% coupons off your entire receipt, and the discount applies even to promo items. The higher your status, the fewer points a coupon costs: basic — 70, silver — 55, gold — 40. The program's rules were updated in July 2026, so check current terms in the Teta app or at tetadrogerie.cz.

Own brands: Amete (body and hair), Ellie (facial care), Happy Kids (baby line), Innese.

Where is it cheaper: dm, Rossmann or Teta?

There's no clear winner — the chains simply play by different rules:

Practical takeaway: buy everyday small items wherever is closest; grab large packs of household chemicals, name-brand cosmetics and diapers during Teta and Rossmann promotions; and rely on dm's own brands for consistently low prices without hunting for deals. You can track promotions easily using flyer apps — see our guides on money-saving apps in Czechia and where groceries are cheaper.

Baby products and diapers

Diapers are one of the biggest expenses for young parents, and each chain has its own brand: babylove at dm, Babydream at Rossmann, Happy Kids at Teta. Czech parents in reviews often name Babydream as the best value for money, but the objective way to compare is the price per piece (Kč per kus), printed in small type on the price tag. Own brands are usually noticeably cheaper than Pampers per piece.

Parents should sign up for both programs at once: dm babybonus (personalized coupons based on pregnancy trimester and child's age) and Rossmánek (up to age 6) — both are free and offer discounts on baby products. For registering your child in the Czech healthcare system, read our guide on pediatricians and child insurance, and find a trusted pediatrician through our directory of doctors.

Online shops and delivery

All three chains run e-shops with delivery and pickup options:

How to save at drugstores: 5 rules

  1. Get all three free apps — Moje dm, ROSSMANN CLUB and Teta klub: registration takes a couple of minutes, and coupons often work even on promo items.
  2. Activate coupons before checkout: at dm and Rossmann, a coupon only works once activated in the app.
  3. Compare the unit price (Kč per 100 g, per liter or per piece) — it's printed on every price tag and is a fairer comparison than the package price.
  4. Plan big purchases around promotions: it's easy to browse flyers on aggregators like Kupi.cz or Kaufino.
  5. Factor drugstore spending into your overall household budget — reference figures in our guide on the cost of living in Prague.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy medicine at dm, Rossmann or Teta?

No. Drugstores only sell vitamins, supplements and basic medical items (band-aids, test kits), such as the Mivolis brand at dm. Prescription and over-the-counter medications are only available at pharmacies; check addresses for duty pharmacies in our guide on 24-hour pharmacies in Prague.

Which loyalty program is the best value?

For families with kids — the combo of dm babybonus + Rossmánek. For large regular shopping — Teta klub, with −10% coupons off your entire receipt that work even during promotions. If you shop occasionally — go with dm, since its low prices don't depend on coupons.

Are drugstores open on Sundays and holidays?

On Sundays — yes, usually from 8:00–9:00 to 20:00, longer in shopping malls. But on certain public holidays, stores over 200 m² are legally required to close — check which exact days in our guide on whether stores are open on Czech holidays.

Where are diapers cheaper?

Go with the chains' own brands: Babydream at Rossmann, babylove at dm, and Happy Kids at Teta. Compare the price per piece and watch for promotions on large packs — during a megapack promo, the own brand almost always beats name brands.

Are there other drugstores in Czechia besides dm, Rossmann and Teta?

Yes. In small towns you'll find the partner chain TOP drogerie (run by the same operator as Teta), large household chemical sections exist in the hypermarkets Kaufland, Tesco, Globus and Albert, and online, Notino is a great place for cosmetics and perfume. But in terms of price and coverage combined, the dm–Rossmann–Teta trio covers nearly every need.
