Around Prague is an independent outlet about Prague and Czechia. This page explains how we produce our material, work with sources and facts, use automation, and how we separate advertising from editorial content. The editorial team, led by editor-in-chief Maksym Akimov, is responsible for the content of the site.
We produce our news on the basis of open Czech sources: official statements from government bodies and city services, Czech news agencies and media, and organisations' press releases. Where data conflicts, we give priority to the primary source — the official website of the authority or organisation. Where appropriate, we link to the original material.
Part of our news flow is produced with the help of automation and artificial intelligence: monitoring Czech sources, and drafting and translating into Russian, English and Ukrainian. Such material undergoes selective editorial oversight — the editorial team reviews and edits publications, responds to reader signals and corrects errors. The editorial team is responsible for everything published.
Guides, the directory and analytical pieces are original editorial content: we produce and regularly update them by hand, with links to official sources.
We aim for accuracy and rely on primary sources. For topics where the cost of a mistake is high — visas and residence permits, taxes, insurance, health — we link to official sources (websites of ministries, authorities, insurers) and encourage readers to check them, because rules and prices in Czechia change. Around Prague material is for information only and does not replace professional legal, tax or medical advice.
If you spot an inaccuracy, write to [email protected] — we will check it and correct it promptly. We note substantial edits in the body of the article.
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team; commercial partners do not influence the content of our material. Advertising, sponsored and partner publications are always labelled accordingly and kept separate from editorial content. Some links on the site are affiliate links: clicking them may earn us a commission, but it does not change the price for the reader and does not affect our assessment. Advertising terms are on our Advertising page.
