Lítačka is the main pass system for Prague Integrated Transport (PID): metro, trams, buses, trains, and ferries in Prague and the surrounding area. You can load your pass onto a plastic Lítačka card, a mobile app, or a bank card. Here's how it works, what it costs, and where to set it up.
Lítačka is the "carrier" for your PID network pass (kupón). It isn't a ticket itself — it's a card or account onto which you load a pass valid for a chosen period. Single trips can still be paid without it (paper ticket, SMS, or a bank card tapped on the validator), but for regular commuting, a longer-term pass works out cheaper.
The main long-term pass options for the Prague zone (P+0) are:
Discounts apply for children, students (with ISIC), seniors 65+, and other eligible groups — some categories even ride for free. Check the official fares website (links below) for current prices and zone boundaries, as rates are periodically revised.
PID is divided into fare zones. For trips within Prague only, you need zone P+0. If you travel to the surrounding region (Středočeský kraj), choose a pass that includes the relevant outer zones. Check the zone map on PID before buying.
Passes are also sold at DPP ticket offices and machines, at customer service points, and at some retailers.
Inspectors check whether there's a valid pass loaded on your carrier; the fine for riding without a valid ticket is significantly higher than the cost of a pass. Carry your carrier with an active pass, along with proof of eligibility for any discount, if applicable.
