The Czech health ministry will file a police complaint in the coming days over suspicious multimillion-crown payouts made to former top managers of the interior ministry's insurance company (ZP MV ČR). Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (ANO) announced this on Wednesday.

“I consider the current findings on ZP MV ČR extremely serious. In the coming days we will file a complaint with the police, and it will then be up to the authorities conducting criminal proceedings to assess whether a crime was committed,” Vojtěch said.

According to the ministry, the insurer's former executives received, among other things, multimillion-crown payouts under non-compete agreements. The health ministry, together with the finance ministry, carried out a review that found a lack of transparent remuneration rules — this applied both to high annual and extraordinary bonuses and to the non-standard non-compete agreements in particular.
