Every Third Czech Now Uses Artificial Intelligence — Young People Lead the Way

More than 2.7 million people in Czechia are now using artificial intelligence, with young people leading the charge in adopting tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, according to the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ).

Data from the office shows that 78% of people aged 16–24 use AI — the highest share of any age group. "The group that uses artificial intelligence tools the most is young people aged 16 to 24," said Lenka Vajchetová, a representative of ČSÚ's social development statistics department.

Interest in AI drops noticeably with age. Among Czechs aged 25–34, 51% of women and 62% of men use artificial intelligence, while among people of retirement age the share of users falls to just a few percent.

In a Europe-wide comparison, Czechia sits slightly above average. According to a survey conducted last year, 35% of the country's residents said they had used AI in the previous three months, compared to a European average of just under a third of the population.

The share of users is notably higher in the Nordic countries, the Benelux states, as well as in Switzerland, Kosovo and Greece. Czechs, meanwhile, use artificial intelligence somewhat more often than Germans and Slovaks, and are well ahead of Poland, where only 23% of residents use AI tools.
