Ex-MP Foldyna Fights Ban on Approaching His Own Home

Former Czech parliament member Jiří Foldyna has filed an appeal against a court ruling that bars him from approaching his own house. He confirmed this himself to Radiožurnál, declining to comment further.

The request for the restraining order was filed by Foldyna's wife. The court granted her petition and extended the ban for another month. This kind of expedited procedure is typically used when swift protection is needed for victims of domestic violence.

What the Former MP Is Suspected Of

According to Lukáš Otipka, prosecutor at the Děčín district prosecutor's office, criminal proceedings against Foldyna were launched immediately after police intervened. He is suspected of abusing a person in his care — typically a child — as well as mistreating a person sharing his household, usually referring to a spouse or partner.
