Father in Sokolov Region Raped His Daughter for 11 Years — Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison

On Friday, the Regional Court in Pilsen sentenced a 46-year-old truck driver from the Sokolov region to 11 years in prison for rape, incest, and using his own child to produce pornography. Under the now-final verdict, the man must also pay his daughter 2.5 million koruna in compensation for the psychological suffering he caused her.

"In 26 years of practice, I have never come across a case where someone committed a crime like this against their own child, and for such a long period of time. This is utterly incomprehensible and unforgivable behavior. Few people can even imagine what this girl went through," said the presiding judge, Jan Špeta, adding that if the defendant has any conscience at all, it will torment him for the rest of his life.

How the Crime Came to Light

According to case files, the abuse began in 2013 and continued until last year, when investigators arrested the 46-year-old truck driver. A search of his home turned up pornographic photos and videos of his own daughter on his computer and mobile phone.

The sexual abuse took place roughly every two to three weeks, whenever the defendant had his daughter — who lived with her mother — over to visit. According to prosecutor Michal Rendl, the man subjected the girl to various sexual acts, including anal intercourse, and on several occasions recorded the abuse on camera or phone. When his daughter later tried to refuse, he told her this was "normal in every family" between a father and daughter.

As she grew older, he coerced her into sex through threats of violence or by threatening to cut off her child support payments or allowance. That was enough to keep her silent.

Not a Shred of Remorse

In court, the father admitted his guilt but refused to comment on the case itself. "I'm sorry — if I could turn back time, none of this would have happened. I want to sell my apartment to compensate my daughter for the harm done," he managed to say haltingly in his final statement.

According to the prosecutor, throughout the pre-trial investigation the defendant showed neither remorse nor self-criticism. On the contrary, he shifted the blame onto the victim, claiming she could have reported it sooner. During a hearing on pre-trial detention, the man even said he viewed his daughter as a "girlfriend" and therefore felt entitled to do whatever he wanted with her.

Experts determined that the defendant is sexually immature and used his daughter to satisfy his own sexual needs simply because she was easily accessible to him. No sexual disorders were found in his case.
