Gas Explosion at Restaurant in Prague

A gas explosion occurred at a restaurant in Prague's Komořany district after gas built up under a kitchen extractor hood. According to Miroslav Řezáč, spokesman for the Prague Fire Brigade, the building suffered no structural damage, though three people were burned.

Fire crews from Modřany and Krč, along with a chemical unit from Petřín, responded to the scene. Řezáč said measuring instruments detected no dangerous concentrations of substances. Firefighters continued inspecting the building before gradually scaling back the number of units on site.

Victims Taken to Hospital

Prague's Emergency Medical Service said on X that it was treating three patients with burns, noting that none of them were in a life-threatening condition. A medical team, three ambulance crews and a special EVA vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Alongside paramedics and firefighters, police were also on site.
