Man in Bratislava punches seated woman on bus for no reason, flees scene

In Bratislava, an unknown man punched a woman sitting on a bus in the face for no apparent reason, then calmly stepped off and disappeared. Slovak police reported the incident on social media.

According to police, the incident took place on bus route No. 39 as it stopped at the Sabinovská stop on Trnavská Street, heading toward the city centre. The man boarded through the rear doors, walked up to a seated woman and, without any warning, punched her in the face. Other passengers were on board at the time. After the attack, the man calmly moved to a different door, got off the bus and vanished.

The case is being investigated by officers from the Bratislava II district police department as hooliganism combined with causing bodily harm.

Investigators have released photographs of the suspect and are asking the public for help identifying him. Anyone with information about the attacker, or any other details that could assist the investigation, is urged to call the free hotline 158 or send a message to the Facebook page “Polícia SR – Bratislavský kraj.”
