Motorcyclist Collides with Car Towing a Caravan While Overtaking in South Bohemia

A road accident occurred at around 11 a.m. near the village of Staré Město pod Landštejnem in South Bohemia. According to police, a motorcyclist attempted to overtake a car towing a caravan, but the car began turning at that very moment, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Police spokeswoman Lenka Krausová said these were the preliminary circumstances established so far. After the crash, the motorcyclist was found unconscious, according to Vojtěch Míra, spokesman for the regional emergency medical service. Both ground ambulance crews and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene.

"By the time we arrived, the patient had regained consciousness and was able to communicate. The doctor administered painkillers, and the paramedics fitted him with a neck brace and a pelvic binder before placing him in a vacuum mattress," Míra said.

Medics suspected the 23-year-old man had sustained multiple severe injuries. He was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital in České Budějovice.
