Motorcyclist dies after flying off road into cornfield near Tábor

A fatal accident occurred in South Bohemia, in the Tábor region, when a motorcyclist left the road and crashed straight into a cornfield. According to rescuers, the man suffered severe multiple injuries and died at the scene despite efforts to save him.

All emergency services, including a medical rescue helicopter, responded to the scene. Vojtěch Míra, a spokesman for the ambulance service, said that resuscitation efforts were guided over the phone before rescuers arrived, but the motorcyclist could not be saved.

What witnesses say

Tábor traffic police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy. According to some witnesses, the motorcyclist was riding at very high speed and attempted to overtake right in the middle of a bend, after which he lost control of the bike. “The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated,” said police spokesman Milan Bajcura.

Second road death in the region this weekend

This is the second fatal road accident in South Bohemia over the past weekend. On the night between Friday and Saturday, near the village of Deštná in the Jindřichův Hradec district, a 43-year-old cyclist died after riding into a stone-filled ditch and sustaining fatal injuries at the scene.
