President Pavel flew in from Casablanca for the elections on a chartered private jet

Czech President Petr Pavel flew to Prague from Casablanca, Morocco, on Friday, accompanied by his security detail, to take part in the Senate and municipal elections. He travelled on a chartered private jet and then returned to Casablanca.

According to Flightradar24, flight SAW2982 from Prague to Casablanca was operated by a private Hawker 900XP jet, registration CN-RBS, owned by the Moroccan company Sarah Airways. The private airline, which operates business jets, is based in Casablanca.

The cost of chartering the aircraft is estimated at roughly 30,000 to 45,000 euros, or about 750,000 to 1.13 million crowns.

On Friday morning Pavel left Casablanca at 7:56 and landed in Prague at 13:45. Voting in the Senate and local elections runs on Friday from 14:00 to 22:00 and on Saturday from 8:00 to 14:00, with the second round of the Senate elections to be held next week.
