A section of the Prague Ring Road between the Slivenec and Řeporyje interchanges has been closed since 7:08 p.m. on Saturday and will remain shut until Sunday morning. During that window, crews are set to demolish two overpasses and prepare the site for new structures.
"We'll carry out the demolition and cleanup overnight. At the same time, in the coming days we'll be preparing the construction site so that both new overpasses can be built with almost no serious disruption to traffic," a spokesman for the contractor, Rydl, told reporters.

The detour route runs from the grade-separated Zbraslav interchange along Strakonická and Dobříšská streets, then through the Mrázovka tunnel, the Strahov tunnel, and along Patočkova, Bělohorská and Karlovarská streets, rejoining the ring road at the Řepy interchange.
The ramps at the Slivenec and Ořech interchanges, between which the overpasses are being dismantled, remain open only to passenger cars — primarily for residents of nearby towns and Prague districts. All other drivers are advised to use the detour route.

The company Skanska is carrying out the work to replace the old overpasses with new bridges, having started in mid-May. The demolition was originally planned for mid-June, but unexpected problems with the soil conditions forced a one-month delay.
The project is valued at nearly CZK 207 million excluding VAT. According to the plan, the new overpass near K Austisu street should be operational within five months of the start of works, while the bridge on K Zadní Kopanině street should be ready within seven months. According to Radek Mátl, director general of the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD), both structures will be completed by the end of this year. "By the end of this year we will have built new overpasses that will allow section 515 to be widened to six lanes," he wrote on the social network X on Saturday.
