Triple car crash caused by wild boars near Pohořelice by Brno leaves two women dead

A triple car crash overnight on the motorway near the town of Pohořelice in the South Moravian Region left two women dead and two children and one adult with serious injuries. The incident was confirmed by South Moravian police spokesman David Chaloupka.

According to him, the first car stopped after colliding with wild boars, and a second car pulled up behind it. The driver of a third vehicle was apparently travelling at high speed and slammed into both stationary cars.

Two women died at the scene. A helicopter, a large-capacity ambulance and four rescue teams — including two medical crews — were dispatched to help the injured.

"We attempted to resuscitate two women, but despite all efforts, we were unable to restore vital signs in either of them. One man with serious injuries was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Brno University Hospital. Two children also received treatment — both with severe injuries," said rescue service spokeswoman Michaela Bothová.

One of the children was flown by helicopter to Brno Children's Hospital, while the second child was transported there by ambulance.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight. Police diverted traffic via exit 23 through Židlochovice and Rajhrad.
