"All emergency services are already on the scene. Initial reports indicate the buses collided head-on, and the number of injured is significant," said police spokeswoman Petra Hruz.

According to Michaela Botová, spokeswoman for the emergency medical service, thirteen units of medical equipment are working at the scene, including a helicopter, a duty inspector's vehicle and a large-capacity vehicle for transporting the injured. Additional ambulances have also been dispatched to help transport casualties.
"We have information on 30 people with minor injuries, while another 9 suffered moderate to severe injuries," Botová specified. The injured are being taken to hospitals in Brno and Znojmo. The emergency medical service has even called in crews who were off duty at the time.
