Two dead, driver detained after crash near Most on the Mostecká road

On Saturday, shortly after 9 p.m., two cars collided on the road between Mariánské Radčice and Lom near Most. According to police, two people died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.

Patrik Cmorej, a spokesperson for the Ústí Region Emergency Medical Service, said two more people were in serious condition and were airlifted by helicopter to the hospital in Ústí nad Labem, while two other injured people were taken to the hospital in Most.

Police detained one of the drivers, suspected of causing the crash. Authorities declined to disclose the exact reasons for the detention. "I can only say that one of the drivers was detained and an investigation is underway," said police spokesman Václav Krieger. Investigators are expected to file charges against the driver, and criminal proceedings will follow.

Second tragedy this week

This is already the second fatal accident in the Ústí Region within a week. On Wednesday evening, near the village of Pětipsy in the Chomutov area, a car collided with a bus, killing three people — all of them passengers in the car.
