Ukrainian forces have sunk the container ship "Yanina," which sailed under the Russian flag and had a carrying capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the news on social media, confirming that the vessel went down after the attack.
In addition, units of Ukraine's Security Service struck infrastructure at three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan — nearly 1,600 kilometers from Ukrainian territory. According to Zelensky, the affected facilities process millions of tonnes of oil each year.
"Our targets are facilities that support Russia's war effort," Zelensky said. He added that Ukraine continues to apply "justified pressure" and is implementing its long-term sanctions plan against Russia step by step.
