Czech startup Carebot raises record 36 million crowns to grow its AI diagnostics

The Czech medtech startup Carebot, led by CEO Matěj Misař, has secured the largest investment in its history — more than €1.5 million (over 36 million crowns). At the same time, the company unveiled a new AI solution for analysing mammograms, expanding its portfolio to three certified products.

Carebot was founded in 2021, during the Covid pandemic, by Daniel Kvak, his wife Karolína Kvaková and Matěj Misař, who wanted to help doctors analyse chest X-rays faster. Today Misař runs the company as CEO, while Kvak, as chief technology officer, is responsible for research and development.

Carebot's AI analyses X-ray and mammography images, helping doctors spot abnormalities — including lung and breast cancer — that might otherwise go unnoticed. Over the past year the number of hospitals using the technology has more than tripled; Carebot's solutions are now used in hundreds of clinics across Europe, as well as in Vietnam and the Middle East.

The new funding round was led by Garage Angels and Electron Capital Partners, along with new investor JIC Ventures, alongside existing backers Gain Ventures and Eva Janečková. Since its founding, the startup has raised around €3 million in total, and the company is already pursuing its next round, targeting up to €10 million to fuel further global growth.

The business metrics are striking: over the past year, monthly contracted revenue grew by 750%, and based on contracts already signed, growth is expected to exceed tenfold by the end of the year. That makes Carebot one of the fastest-growing AI healthcare companies in the region.

According to investors, the key achievement of Misař and his team is their ability to combine the technology's clinical value with measurable commercial growth, overcoming the main barrier in the AI-diagnostics market: moving from a certified product to real-world deployment across hundreds of hospitals.
