Richard Valtr, founder of the hotel software giant Mews, has set an ambitious goal for the company: revenue of $1 billion by 2030 at the latest. He also expects the entire group to become profitable as early as next year.
He said this in an interview with Forbes. Valtr lives in New York and flew to Prague for just one day, partly for a technology conference. They met at Mews's Prague office, at the company he founded fourteen years ago.
The main topic of the conversation was artificial intelligence. Valtr described how it is changing the company itself and explained why AI could seriously shake up the business of Booking and other booking platforms. Toward the end, the conversation inevitably turned to money and Mews's future plans.
The title of the interview speaks for itself: “I believe in good capitalism.” For the Czech tech scene this is a telling story. Mews has grown from a local startup into an international player in hospitality software, and its founder now talks not only about growth but also about reaching sustainable profit.
