Prague's main outlets are Fashion Arena Prague Outlet (Štěrboholy, Prague 10) and POP Airport (Tuchoměřice, near Václav Havel Airport), offering 30–70% discounts on more than 200 brands year-round. If you'd rather shop in the city centre, head to one of the big shopping malls — Palladium, Nový Smíchov, Westfield Chodov or Arkády Pankrác. Below you'll find how to get to each, what to expect, and how non-EU tourists can claim a VAT refund under the Tax Free system.
A quick word on the difference between formats: an outlet is a complex where brands sell past collections and leftover stock at a discount all year round, while a shopping mall is a regular mall selling current collections at full price, with seasonal sales. Let's look at both.
Fashion Arena Prague Outlet (Štěrboholy)
Fashion Arena Prague Outlet is the Czech Republic's largest outlet centre, located in eastern Prague (address: Zamenhofova 440, Praha 10 – Štěrboholy). It has more than 200 stores from international and Czech brands; according to the centre, discounts run 30–70% off regular prices year-round.
- Brands: Nike, adidas, Levi's, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, GANT, Lacoste, BOSS, ECCO and others (the lineup changes).
- Getting there: take metro line A to the final stop, Depo Hostivař, then a free shuttle bus to the outlet (about a 10-minute ride), or a city bus. By car, it's roughly 20 minutes from the centre, with free parking on site.
- Opening hours and shuttle timetables should be checked on the official website, fashion-arena.cz.
POP Airport — Premium Outlet Prague Airport (Tuchoměřice)
POP Airport is a large outlet centre near Václav Havel Airport, northwest of Prague (Tuchoměřice, Ke Kopanině 421). It houses around 200 brands, and it's not just about shopping — there's a viewing terrace where you can watch planes take off and land.
- For families: the Majaland Praha amusement park and the Dinosauria Museum Prague are both nearby, so you can combine shopping with a family outing.
- Getting there: bus No. 319 or No. 322 from Václav Havel Airport (Terminals 1 and 2), getting off at the outlet stop in Tuchoměřice. By car, it's right by the airport road, with free parking.
- Opening hours and current routes should be checked on the official website, pop.cz.
Is there a McArthurGlen outlet in Prague?
Many people search for "McArthurGlen Prague," but McArthurGlen has no designer outlet in Prague or anywhere in Czechia — its centres operate in Austria, Germany, Italy and several other countries. The one closest to Czechia is Designer Outlet Parndorf in Austria, but that's several hours away. For a day trip from Prague, Fashion Arena or POP Airport are far more practical.
Prague's major shopping malls
While the outlets are located outside the city, the malls are conveniently situated right next to metro stations. They're generally open daily (roughly 9:00–10:00 to 21:00–22:00) — check the individual centres' websites for details.

Tax Free: VAT refunds for non-EU tourists
Tourists who are non-EU residents can reclaim part of the VAT (Czechia's standard rate is 21%) on their purchases. Key conditions (check current details with the refund operator):
- Minimum purchase — over 2,000 CZK (from 2,001 CZK) at a single store on the same day.
- How it works: ask the cashier for a Tax Free form (e.g., Global Blue or Planet) and show your passport.
- When leaving the EU, you'll need to have your documents stamped or processed (at the airport, at the Tax Free desks and customs) to get your refund; the goods must be exported within 3 months.
- From 2026, Czechia is introducing an electronic VAT refund system — check refund points and procedures on the airport's website, prg.aero, and with the refund operator.
When to find the best discounts
At outlets, discounts apply year-round — that's the whole point of the format. At regular malls, sales (výprodej) follow the seasons: winter sales run from late December through February, summer sales from late June through August, plus Black Friday in late November. We cover major openings and promotions in our Prague News section.
