A Prague Pizzeria That Opened Less Than a Year Ago Has Been Named Among the Best in Europe

Diskotéka Pizza, a pizzeria in Prague's Dejvice district that opened on Jaselská Street last September, has earned the title of "Excellent Pizzeria" in the prestigious 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026 ranking — after just ten months in business.

The Italian experts behind the ranking praised the spot for its atmosphere and the quality of its traditional Neapolitan pizza, singling out the margherita for special praise, calling it "incomparable." The restaurant's tiramisu also made the list of standout desserts sampled by the judges.

The pizzeria was founded by Vladislav Bogdanov, who also runs the neighboring La Forme Bakery, together with Tigran Avakyan and Neapolitan pizzaiolo Giuseppe Della Rocca. The venue's signature feature is its silver, disco-ball-shaped pizza oven, which gave the whole project its name. It blends the laid-back vibe of a café with music nights and DJ sets, turning the pizzeria into something of a neighborhood cultural hub.

The menu features sourdough pizza made in the Neapolitan tradition: classics like margherita and diavola sit alongside bolder combinations, as well as a white pizza topped with mortadella, burrata, gorgonzola and pear. "From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to make the best pizza we'd ever eaten ourselves," said founders Bogdanov and Avakyan, adding that the recognition confirms they're on the right track and motivates them to keep pushing forward.

Besides Diskotéka, three other Prague pizzerias made the ranking. The only Czech establishment to crack the official numbered top 50 in Europe was Pizza Nuova, which came in 30th place and was named the best pizzeria in Czechia. The restaurant on Náměstí Republiky, part of the Ambiente group, has been a member of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana since 2006; judges highlighted its Italian ingredients, wood-fired oven and popular tasting menu featuring several types of pizza and pasta. Pizza Nuova has previously appeared on the list in 2019, 2023 and 2025, ranking 27th last year.

Alongside Diskotéka, two other venues received "Excellent Pizzeria" status — Da Pietro and Sasy The Original. Pizzeria Slice Slice Baby, which made last year's list, fell off the ranking this time. Da Pietro, which originally opened in Pilsen and has had a Prague location in the Vinohrady district since 2024, was praised for its carefully sourced Italian ingredients, long dough fermentation, and modern take on Neapolitan pizza. Sasy The Original, in central Prague, was recognized for staying true to tradition — simple recipes, quality ingredients and classic Neapolitan flavors.

The latest results confirm the strong momentum of Prague's pizza scene: a newcomer now stands shoulder to shoulder with the city's long-established heavyweights.
