Ex-owner of TV Barrandov Jaroslav Soukup brutally beaten by two masked attackers

On Wednesday evening in the village of Strančice in the Prague-East district, two masked men broke into a private property and violently attacked a 57-year-old man. According to police, paramedics took the injured victim to hospital.

As police spokeswoman Barbora Šněhoubová stated, the case has been handed over to the criminal police, who are investigating it as a violation of the sanctity of the home and bodily harm. Police have not officially confirmed the victim's identity, but sources say the man involved is businessman and media mogul Jaroslav Soukup.

What is known about the attack

The server Novinky.cz was the first to report the brutal beating of the former TV company owner, citing its own source. Details about Soukup's condition have not been disclosed — the outlet's source only briefly stated: "They beat him hard."
