MP Foldyna divorced: Czech police returned his seized weapons

MP Foldyna said he has gotten divorced. According to him, the divorce put an end to the domestic violence suspicion case. Because of that case, police removed him in July from his home in Děčín, where he lived with his family. He posted the statement on the social network X and later confirmed it to journalists.

What the MP knows about the investigation

He says he has no information about how the investigation is going. “I haven’t even been summoned to give an explanation, so I don’t even know whether it is still going on,” he said.

However, Foldyna claims that police contacted him about several legally held firearms that were seized when he was removed from the home. “I got my weapons back, they called me to come and pick them up,” he said.

What the MP was suspected of

In July, Foldyna was suspected of assaulting his wife. Information from the prosecutor’s office also indicated that the domestic violence may have gone on for a long time and involved persons in his care, that is, children.

“Criminal proceedings have been initiated against one individual on suspicion of the crimes of abuse of a person in care and abuse of a person living in a shared household,” prosecutor Lukáš Otipka of the district prosecutor’s office in Děčín said in July. The MP has denied guilt for a long time.
