Police in Plzeň are searching for a cyclist who attacked a female runner near the Ostende campsite and fled the scene. Officers have released photos of the man, who was caught on camera.
The attack happened at 1 p.m. “The perpetrator left the scene on a bicycle. Dozens of officers searched for him, but so far without success,” police spokeswoman Dagmar Mifková said. Investigators are looking into the case on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and disorderly conduct.
According to Mifková, the man spoke Czech without an accent. He is believed to be a young man of slim build. He was riding a green-and-black mountain bike, wearing what was probably a grey helmet with a visor, and had a blue sports neck gaiter over his face. He was dressed in light-coloured trousers, black sports shoes with white soles and a blue-and-black hooded jacket, and carried a black-and-red backpack.
The police are asking possible witnesses, as well as anyone who recognises the man in the photo, to share information on the phone number 158.
