In the third round of the Czech show StarDance, held on Saturday, Oct. 24, stuntwoman Hana Dvorská and her partner Michal Kurtiš were eliminated. The judges gave their samba just 16 points, the lowest score of the fairy-tale evening. The leaders were actress and singer Lučana Tomašová and Robin Ondráček, who earned 33 points for their jive.
The start of the broadcast was devoted to a statement viewers had been waiting for. It concerned events in the Chamber of Deputies, which on Saturday morning adopted a proposal to change the funding of public media. Marek Eben did most of the talking, reminding viewers that “good will triumph over evil and the devil will take all the wicked away.”
The contestants danced to fairy-tale songs, including ones from the films “The Proud Princess,” “Lotrando and Zubejda,” “Harry Potter,” “How to Drown Dr. Mracek,” “Long Live Ghosts!” and “Madagascar.” The performances were scored by a four-member jury: Tatiana Drexler, Richard Genzer, Zdeněk Chlopčík and Jana Burkevičová.
The evening began on a fairly harsh note. Actor Tomáš Sean Pšenička and Natali Otagalová went first with a jive, but the routine did not come off. Tatiana Drexler said she missed the jive in particular and that the actor had not repeated his round-two result. The pair received 24 points. Next, actor Tomáš Matonoha and Lenka Nora Navorková danced a waltz: Burkevičová asked for more waltz and more attention to the back, and the judges awarded 23 points.
Hana Dvorská and Michal Kurtiš performed third, with a samba. Richard Genzer remarked sarcastically that they had turned him into a mushroom picker among palm trees and that he had looked for the samba in vain. The result was only 16 points, and this was the pair that left the show.
Actor and singer Vojtěch Dyk and Katarína Malek danced a jive. Drexler noted the good choreography and advised working on the feet, while Chlopčík added that Dyk’s legs had grown slow toward the end. The result was 30 points. Singer Marta Jandová and Martin Pragr received the same for their samba. Burkevičová said that after three weeks she was seeing a “new Marta,” while Jandová replied that everyone is working hard and that everyone is “taped up in different ways” to dance on Saturday.
Actress Sára Pracharž Sandeva and Daniel Makovec had a waltz. According to the judges, they coped decently: Chlopčík noted Sára’s great progress but pointed out that Daniel kept falling out of rhythm many times, a rare case in which the male dancer deserved the criticism. The score was 19 points. Musician Tomáš Polák and Adriana Mašková danced a samba and received 20 points: Genzer observed that Polák is getting better with every show.
The fairy-tale evening closed with Lučana Tomašová and Robin Ondráček. “An excellent jive,” said Chlopčík, and the other judges agreed. In total the pair earned the highest score of the night: 33.
