In Germany, a 26-year-old railway employee originally from Bulgaria suffered life-threatening injuries after falling out of a train carriage travelling at roughly 120 km/h. The incident occurred on Friday evening near the town of Bruchhausen.
According to police, the trouble began when a drunk 36-year-old German man got into a verbal altercation with a conductor who had asked him to show his ticket. When security staff were called in to help, the man turned violent and began throwing punches — a brawl broke out, during which both men ended up on the floor.

It is still unclear exactly how it happened, but during the scuffle the carriage doors suddenly swung open, and the 26-year-old railway worker fell out while the train was still moving. Investigators are now trying to determine how the doors came open.
Police found the injured man about two kilometres from the spot where the train made an emergency stop. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man responsible for starting the fight — the same 36-year-old German — was detained right on the train.

The investigation is ongoing, with police trying to piece together the full picture of the incident, including why the carriage doors opened. The train involved has been temporarily taken out of service.
