Glass and Ceramic Exhibition by Lenka Brücknerová Opens in Prague

Since autumn 2025, the Kačabka bistro-café on Kozinova Square in Prague's Hostivař district (Prague 15) has been hosting an exhibition of abstract works and assemblages made from glass, ceramics, metal and other materials by artist Lenka Brücknerová.

The café sits by the Botič stream at Kozinovo náměstí 1687/9. The easiest way to get there is by tram No. 22 from I. P. Pavlova metro station to the Na Groši stop, followed by a short walk, or by bus No. 177 to the Hostivařský hřbitov stop.

The artist's works line the walls on both floors of the café, while concrete candle holders decorate the windowsills. Of particular interest are the assemblages made from half-broken cups, beads and glass pearls, along with concrete candle holders adorned with unfinished glass jewellery pieces and remnants of glass bangles once mass-exported to India. All the pieces on display are for sale.

Besides coffee and desserts, the café serves full dishes too — salads and baked tortillas — and on nice days you can sit out on the summer terrace. The bistro is open Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 22:00, and on Sundays from 12:00 to 20:00.

According to visitors, a stroll through old Hostivař turns out to be surprisingly charming: the district retains the feel of a genuine village despite the panel-block housing surrounding it. Old Hostivař is officially recognised as a rural heritage zone, home to a wooden bell tower by the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, and Kozinova Square marks the start of a barefoot walking trail. Nearby lies the old Hostivař cemetery, the resting place of the neighbourhood's most famous native, politician Antonín Švehla, as well as scenic paths around the Hostivař reservoir.
