Babiš: We may one day have to defend our border against migrants from Western countries

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said that Czechia may one day have to defend its border to keep migrants from Western countries from coming in, if the situation in Europe continues to develop the same way. He said the country is, of course, preparing for this. The report comes from Novinky.

“Fight the smugglers, lock them up, take the money from the non-profits that organise it, sink the empty boats. That is a clear signal that we are not putting up with it anymore,” the prime minister said when asked whether Czechia would join the creation of reception centres for migrants outside the European Union.

He also complained about other European countries which, in his view, have problems with the influx of refugees and their integration. Babiš named the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany among them. He added that some Spanish politicians are willing to put migrants ahead of Spain’s native population just to stay in office.

“Berlin is hell”

Babiš also addressed migration in European countries in his Sunday show with First Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister Karel Havlíček. “Berlin is hell, and Sweden ended up how it ended up,” the prime minister said, and then pulled out a newspaper article headlined “Berlin’s left is led by a woman with a soft spot for terrorists.”
