Poll: STAN overtakes ODS, Turek's Motorists would miss out on the Chamber of Deputies

According to a new opinion poll, the STAN (Mayors and Independents) movement has pulled noticeably ahead of the ODS party in support ratings ahead of the Czech parliamentary elections. Over the past month, STAN gained 2.5 percentage points, while ODS lost one percentage point.

Besides STAN and ODS, the Pirates with 8% and SPD with 7.5% would also make it into the Chamber of Deputies based on the poll results.

Motorists fail to clear the threshold

The Motorists (Motoristé sobě) party lost half a percentage point of support over the month and now stands at just 4.5% — not enough to enter the Chamber of Deputies, where a five-percent threshold applies.

Other political forces also fell short of the threshold: the Christian Democrats (KDU-ČSL) with 3.5%, South Bohemian Governor Martin Kuba's Our Czechia movement, also with 3.5%, the Communists with 3.5%, and TOP 09 with just 3%.

Turnout remains unchanged

According to the poll, 49% of respondents said they definitely plan to vote in the parliamentary elections, while another 10% are still undecided. Compared to the June survey, voters' willingness to cast a ballot has not changed.
