Roma song festival and traditional St Anne's Fair to take place in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm

Roma song festival and traditional St Anne

The open-air Wallachian Wooden Village museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm will host two festive events on the weekend of 25–26 July 2026 — a Roma song festival and the traditional regional St Anne's Fair.

The festival kicks off on Saturday, 25 July, at 1:00 PM in the museum complex's intimate amphitheatre. Dance and vocal ensembles from Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary will take to the stage. Czech artists will make up the largest contingent, with performances from the band Imperio, saxophonist Erik Tuleja, and the dance groups Roma Vsetín and Salut Roma. Slovakia will be represented by Ladislav Rig's musical ensemble and the dance troupe Romka, while Hungary sends singer Gitus, accompanied by violin.

The following day, Sunday 26 July, the Wooden Village at the Wallachian Open Air Museum will host the traditional regional St Anne's Fair. This year the celebration coincides with the 81st anniversary of the consecration of the museum's Church of St Anne.

A solemn Mass will begin at 10:00 AM in the Church of All Saints. At 11:00 AM a festive procession bearing a statue of St Anne, accompanied by the Rožnovjanka brass band, will set out from the church. The procession will make its way to the Wooden Village, where it will conclude with the Litany of St Anne and the prayer "Angelus Domini."

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a rich programme of folk festivities: fair stalls, historic swings and carousels for children, performances by magicians and acrobats from the Vlčkovi troupe on the meadow, and a travelling fairground theatre in the courtyard of the reeve's homestead. From 1:30 PM, the band AV Blues & Swing will perform, and the main programme on the amphitheatre stage from 3:00 PM will feature a performance by the Wallachian ensemble Troyan from Valašská Bystřice.
