Brno vs. Bohemians 1905: postponed match set for Nov. 4

Artis Brno’s postponed match with Bohemians 1905 moved to Nov. 4

The postponed round 11 match of the Czech football league between Artis Brno and Prague’s Bohemians 1905 will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. The date was announced by the League Football Association (LFA), which runs the professional competitions in Czechia.

The game had been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, but was postponed because of an infection in the Brno squad: the league newcomer was hit by a stomach virus, and the club asked for a delay. On Saturday, the team will already be back on the pitch in Teplice.

A week earlier, coach Roman Nádvorník described on the club’s website how the illness struck the players and the coaching staff. “Eighteen players literally didn’t sleep all night, including me,” he said. Some lost three kilograms in a single day. “And their strength left them completely,” the coach added. After the weekend the team regrouped and gradually returned to training.

Bohemians are unhappy with the new date. According to the club, the association scheduled the match despite its written objection. For the Prague side, it means five matches in 15 days, four of them away from home. It is also Bohemians’ third postponed match in just 11 rounds, and, the club stresses, never through any fault of its own.

In a statement on X, the Prague club said it had proposed six alternative dates, including four during the upcoming break for national team matches. Artis offered one date, and that is the one the association approved. Even so, Bohemians said it fully respects the decision of the competition organizer: “The Kangaroos aren’t afraid of challenges.”
