A scandal erupted in a Polish league match between Pogoń and Radomiak: a sent-off player came back out of the tunnel onto the pitch and punched an opposing player. Footage of the incident appeared on X.
Tempers were frayed even before the heated finish. Pogoń led 4-2 after two goals from substitute Kamil Grosicki. Five minutes from time, Fernan Gouré scored a spectacular goal into the top corner. But the visitors were not allowed to celebrate: the referee was called to the VAR monitor, and because of a foul in the preceding play the goal was disallowed.
The decision sparked an outburst of emotion. Players got into a scuffle, and later the conflict spread to the benches. The referee sent off Radomiak's Ibrahima Camara: according to the official, he kicked Dimitrios Keramitsis near the center circle.
The ugly scenes did not end there. The video shows the sent-off Camara returning from the tunnel and punching Darko Churlinov. The Pogoń forward fell to the turf and writhed in pain. Once he recovered, the North Macedonia international wanted to go after Camara, but his teammates held him back.
Pogoń president Alex Haditaghi wrote on social media that the result was excellent but the match was ugly. He called the refereeing scandalous and said of the opponent that it had not shown even a drop of the required level.
