Swedish biathlete Hanna Öberg and her teammate and partner, a world champion, have announced that they are expecting a child. The couple shared the happy news alongside photos in which the 14-time world championship medallist can already be seen with a visible baby bump.

“We have news! The upcoming season will bring new challenges,” the athletes wrote alongside the pictures.

At this year’s Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, the elder of the Öberg sisters helped the Swedish women’s relay team win silver. Her partner didn’t come away empty-handed either — in Antholz he won the pursuit race and finished third with Sweden’s men’s relay team.

Hanna Öberg’s collection also includes gold medals: in the individual endurance race at the 2018 PyeongChang Games, and in the relay at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
