According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI), a powerful storm system will move across the country on Sunday — travelling from southwestern Bohemia through the Vysočina region towards Moravia, which it is expected to reach later in the afternoon.

The first storm cells are expected as early as the morning or around midday. Forecasters warn the storms will bring gusts of wind exceeding 70 km/h, with small hail possible in some areas, along with heavy rainfall of up to 30 mm.
A storm warning is in effect for most of the country, covering the Central Bohemian, South Bohemian, Plzeň, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Vysočina and South Moravian regions.

Meteorologists also note that in southern Moravia, the dry, hot weather continues to pose an elevated risk of fires starting and spreading — a warning that remains in place there until further notice.
