Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian missiles struck a heating plant and power station No. 4, with energy infrastructure the main target of the attack. According to him, Ukraine's partners once again failed to give advance warning of the ballistic missile launch.
“Our partners again did not warn us in advance. The main target was energy infrastructure, namely the heating plant and power station No. 4, which the missiles, unfortunately, hit,” Zelensky wrote on the social network X. According to intelligence, Russia is preparing new ballistic missile launches against Ukraine.
Zelensky also noted that Russia is not observing the energy truce unilaterally declared by US President Donald Trump, while Ukraine has stopped its strikes on Russian energy facilities. “It is completely unfair that Russia destroys our energy infrastructure and Ukraine does not even receive timely warnings about ballistic missile launches,” he added, stressing that the US must understand who is responsible for the continuation of the war.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in the evening that Russian forces had hit a nine-storey building. A fire broke out, engulfing apartments from the first to the eighth floor. Rescuers found the body of one person at the scene, and according to preliminary data, six more people were injured. A warehouse building was also damaged, where a fire broke out as well.
Zelensky also said Ukraine had not received a timely warning from its allies after the previous missile strike on Kyiv overnight on Tuesday, noting that intelligence on Russian ballistic missile launches helps save lives. At the end of last week, the US threatened to stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine if Kyiv did not halt its attacks on Russian oil refineries. This was demanded by US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly blamed Ukraine for high fuel prices in the US.
