Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the city of Ivano-Frankivsk on Thursday to attend a sports event called "Will to Live," which brought together military personnel, veterans and people with disabilities. He shared details of the visit on his social media.
According to Zelensky, the tournament's participants include soldiers who "never gave up" and are now rebuilding their strength and health through sport. The president spoke with the athletes and signed the combat flags of the brigades in which they served.
Footage released from the event shows Zelensky playing table tennis with the athletes, lifting dumbbells, and trying his hand at archery.
"I'm grateful to everyone who is developing this field of physical and psychological rehabilitation, engaging the veteran community, and creating the conditions our defenders need to return to an active life," the Ukrainian president said.
