Czech billionaire Marek Španěl is writing a book on the universe

Billionaire Marek Španěl is writing his first book: is our universe a matrix?

Czech billionaire Marek Španěl is preparing to publish his first book, in which mathematics and physics meet reflections on how the universe works. It is based on his long-running blog, and the main intrigue is the idea that creation may work as a kind of “matrix.”

Španěl intends to rework his accumulated texts and stitch them into a coherent whole. The author warns right away that it will not be for everyone. The book promises an unusual view of the world and of numbers, and its scientific and mathematical calculations sit alongside informal musings.

It is scheduled for release in November, so that it can be given as a Christmas present. The entrepreneur wrote about this himself on his LinkedIn profile. He will print a few copies for his loved ones and offer everyone else a downloadable electronic version and print-on-demand, so as not to keep unsold print runs in a warehouse.

Marek Španěl is one of the best-known Czech entrepreneurs. He is a co-founder of the game studio Bohemia Interactive, which created successful games, including the Arma series. Together with Slavomír Pavlíček, he is building the investment group SPM, which operates in media and real estate and invests in Czech companies.

Now a billionaire accustomed to constructing virtual worlds is taking on the question of whether we ourselves live inside one.
