Plzeň, Czechia: man sets bull-type dog on a rabbit, police seek him

Police in Plzeň are searching for an unknown man who, on June 3, set a fighting dog on a pet rabbit in someone else’s garden on Vrchlického Street. Officers made the case public only now.

According to investigators, the man pulled back the fence mesh, let the dog into the yard and egged it on to kill the rabbit, which was running freely around the garden. The dog did so. Police spokeswoman Michaela Raindlová said the animal was a bull-type dog.

Police have launched criminal proceedings on suspicion of a misdemeanor — animal cruelty. During the investigation they obtained a photo of the suspect and are now asking the public for help.
