On Wednesday, October 14, a 26-year-old man threatened by phone to shoot the employees of a road company, where almost sixty people were present at the time. Police detained him at home about two hours after his last call, and found illegally kept weapons.
According to police spokeswoman Michaela Lebrová, the man called the company repeatedly, crudely insulted the workers and promised to attack them. The frightened employees took security measures and called the police. The suspect was quickly identified: police databases listed him as the owner of a gas pistol.
During the search, officers seized not only the registered gas pistol but also a shotgun, a sport pistol and various types of ammunition. “The man kept weapons and ammunition even though he holds no firearms licence in any category,” Lebrová stressed.
The detainee has already been before a court and served time in prison. Now he faces a new punishment while in custody. According to Jan Pfeffer, head of the criminal police in Havlíčkův Brod, on the basis of the evidence gathered the man was charged with dangerous threats and illegal possession of weapons. The police investigation continues.
