The “Svratka Meanders near Milovy” nature reserve, declared a protected area in 2014, safeguards the winding course of the Svratka river, its dead-end arms, backwaters, marshes and floodplain groves. It is a natural monument that can be visited as a tourist destination.
Because of the current drought there is not much water in the river, but visitors say this has taken nothing away from the charm of the place. The picturesque river twists and turns, paths run around it, and footbridges span the channel.
In its autumn colors, the area is most likely home to many protected and endangered species of plants and animals. This time the authors of the report simply enjoyed the broad views. On the same weekend they also stopped by other places nearby: the Gingerbread Kingdom in Písečná, the OREA resort, the Devět skal (Nine Rocks) hill near Milovy and the Milovy pond.
