Base Škoda Epiq to cost from 619,000 crowns in Czech Republic

Base version of the Škoda Epiq electric car to cost from 619,000 crowns

Automaker Škoda Auto has announced the price of the base version of its new electric car, the Epiq, on the Czech market. The Epiq 35 variant will cost buyers from 619,000 crowns — the most affordable option in the new electric crossover lineup, aimed by the manufacturer at those just taking their first steps toward electric vehicles.

Like the more powerful Epiq 40, the base version is equipped with an LFP battery with a usable capacity of 38.5 kWh, but it powers a weaker 85 kW electric motor. According to the manufacturer, energy consumption will be 13.6 to 13.7 kWh per 100 km under the WLTP methodology, and the range on a single charge will reach 325 km. Škoda Auto notes that in city driving, the range on one charge may be even higher.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 11 seconds for the base version, and the top speed is limited to 150 km/h. Charging from 10 to 80% takes about 33 minutes, according to the manufacturer.

On the Czech market, the Epiq 35 is available only in the Essence trim, which, despite being the base level, includes quite a few features: automatic climate control, rain and light sensors, height-adjustable seats, rear parking sensors and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster.

“The Epiq appeals to buyers who are still looking for their own path to electric vehicles. I’m confident that a base version at such an attractive price will make it easier for new interested customers to enter the world of electric mobility. The model was designed to become a natural part of city and suburban traffic,” said Jiří Malaček, head of Škoda Auto’s Czech market operations.
