Minister Mrázová Pays 10,000 CZK Fine Over Error in Asset Declaration

Czech Regional Development Minister Klára Mrázová has paid a fine of 10,000 CZK for violating the conflict-of-interest law. The penalty was issued by the Most municipal authority, Seznam Zprávy reports.

The violation came to light after the minister revealed at a press conference in May that her family had lent her 500,000 CZK to purchase a plot of land in the town of Bílina, in the Teplice region. However, this information was not included in her 2024 asset declaration.

"As I have said before, I acknowledge this mistake and fully respect the authority's decision. I consider the matter closed and will not comment on it further," Mrázová wrote on her Facebook page.

This is not the first scandal to surround the minister recently. In June, Mrázová faced criticism over a bill she had drafted that would further legalize unauthorized construction — she herself owns illegal structures in Bílina, where she previously served as mayor.
