Prague Police Conduct "Cleanup" Raid on Metro and Streets in Prague 5 and 13

Prague police carried out a large-scale, multi-hour operation codenamed "Cleanup" in the Košíře and Stodůlky districts, as well as at the Luka, Anděl, Motol, Jinonice, Nové Butovice and Hůrka metro stations and their surrounding areas. The raid began in the afternoon and continued until early the next morning.

According to police, officers monitored public order, checked compliance with the ban on selling alcohol to minors, and inspected dormitories and squats for wanted or missing persons. Special attention was paid to drivers, who were tested for alcohol and drug intoxication.

Over the course of just a few hours, police checked more than 400 people and over 280 vehicles, and inspected 10 dormitories and 5 squats. Officers recorded 31 traffic and public order violations, issuing on-the-spot fines totaling 22,000 crowns.

In addition, one driver was found operating a vehicle without a license, one person wanted nationwide was detained, and another individual was identified as a suspect in a criminal offense.

Police emphasized that this was not the last such operation — similar raids will continue in the coming months.
