Russia accuses Ukraine of attacking two refineries, Kyiv denies it

Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking two oil refineries overnight, while Kyiv denies it. According to the Interfax agency, Novak said refineries in the Saratov and Ryazan regions had been hit and added that Ukraine is taking no steps toward an energy truce.

Novak spoke at the “Russian Energy Week” event, the Fontanka website reports. He did not say what damage had been caused.

Dmytro Lytvyn, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, called this a lie. According to him, Ukrainian forces did not attack any refineries: a data center was successfully hit, along with another facility that is not a refinery. “The Russians are spreading disinformation about an alleged attack on two refineries,” Interfax-Ukraine quotes Lytvyn as saying.
