Ukraine orders mandatory evacuation of families with children from Kramatorsk and Sloviansk

Ukrainian authorities on Thursday announced the mandatory evacuation of families with children from Kramatorsk and Sloviansk — two cities in the industrial Donbas region in the east of the country that Ukraine still controls. The announcement came from Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration.

According to the AFP news agency, the cities remain the last strongholds of the Ukrainian army in a region that the Kremlin is trying to seize in full.
