Surgeons remove malignant lung tumor from Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo XIV has successfully had a malignant lung tumor removed. A histological examination carried out during the operation confirmed the diagnosis — lung adenocarcinoma, as pre-surgery tests had suggested, the surgeons said.

The Pope spent about three hours in the operating room, while the surgery itself took around 90 minutes. According to the doctors, it went well and without complications.
