Ukrainian citizens in Czechia use either the consular section of the embassy in Prague (Charlese de Gaulla 915/27) or the consulate in Brno (Barvičova 56), depending on the region where they are registered. Appointments are only through the free e-Consul online system. A new international passport costs 2,710 Kč under the fees in force since 13 May 2026, and consulates do not issue ID cards. Around Prague checked addresses, hours, fees and document lists on the embassy and consulate websites on 2 November 2026. All contacts below are official, and the main differences between official pages are flagged in the text.

The embassy says consular registration for residents of the Brno regions is possible only in Brno. For other services we found no explicit ban on using the other office, so ask by email before you book.

The emergency numbers are for threats to life, deaths and similar cases such as road accidents, arrest or refused entry at Prague airport. For routine questions the embassy asks you to email, because the phone lines are overloaded.

How to book an appointment

  1. Go to the e-Consul portal. The address go.mfa.gov.ua leads to the same system.
  2. Sign in with Diia.Signature, a personal key or id.gov.ua. The Brno consulate also lists BankID NBU.
  3. Choose the office and service. Details must be those of the person receiving the service, and each service needs its own booking.
  4. Confirm the visit in your account 14 days before. The Brno consulate warns that unconfirmed bookings are cancelled automatically and cannot be restored.
  5. If you cannot come, cancel under "Мій кабінет".

Booking is free for all services. The embassy tells people not to use intermediaries. New dates appear gradually, and places also free up after cancellations. The embassy asks people not to call or email for a manual booking. We found no official figure for waiting times.

Priority groups can be seen without an online booking if they agree the visit by email first. They include people with group I or II disabilities, pregnant women, the seriously ill, large families, military personnel and their families, combatants, and people who urgently need a return certificate after losing their documents.

Services and fees

The fees apply from 13 May 2026 and are the same in Prague and Brno. They are set in US dollars and converted at the ČNB rate on the approval date (20.848 Kč per dollar). Payment is by card at a terminal; the Prague section does not take cash.

Documents for an international passport

Prague accepts applicants only with the full set of originals and copies:

If the passport was lost or stolen, add the Czech authority's document showing its series and number. For a name change, add proof of the change and your domestic passport in the new name. Fingerprints and the photo are taken on site.

Check status at passport.mfa.gov.ua with the code from your receipt. You can collect only when the status says the document has arrived at the diplomatic mission. The embassy gives no production time. A separate page from July 2025 lists collection on Mon and Wed 13:30–15:00, while the home and contact pages say Mon, Wed, Fri 14:00–15:00. We use the home page.

Children under 12 do not attend, but a 10×15 cm colour photo is needed. Children aged 12–16 come for fingerprints and a photo, and a parent submits the documents.

Men aged 18–60

Since 18 June 2024 consular services require a valid e-VOD from Reserve+. The Brno consulate lists three exceptions: return certificates, services for children whose other parent is a foreigner or stateless, and applications from people in detention. A service is refused if the e-VOD is invalid or the data is unconfirmed. If a father applies for a child's passport, the embassy wants a printout made no more than 72 hours before the visit. Generate a fresh one before you go.

If you lose your passport

Report it to the Czech police and get a confirmation. Use it to apply for a certificate for return to Ukraine. It is issued within one to five working days, or up to 30 days if a written enquiry is needed. The embassy lists these applicants among those with daily access to reception.

What the consulate does not do

ID cards and passports are also available at the Document state enterprise's Passport Service at Michelská 1552/58, Prague. Book on the centre's website with Diia.Signature or BankID. It is closed on 17 November 2026. You pay a service fee of 1,900 Kč, 400 UAH for shipping and the administrative fee: 1,147 UAH for a passport (up to 20 working days) or 1,787 UAH (up to 7), and 618 or 988 UAH for an ID card exchange. We could not find its opening hours.

Powers of attorney and criminal record certificates

Some powers of attorney and statements use an online template, and you only sign at the visit. Otherwise book a slot and email the text as .docx to [email protected] with the subject "ВАШЕ ПРІЗВИЩЕ (нотаріат)", using your surname. Notarial work is done in Ukrainian only. A notary in Ukraine must then register the power of attorney, or it has no effect there.

A criminal record certificate on an official form is issued the same day if you bring a printed electronic extract from vytiah.mvs.gov.ua or Diia. Without one it takes up to 30 days.
