Police in the Prague-West district are looking for people who may be able to identify a young woman whose body was found in early October among plastic waste by a sorting-line worker near Prague. Police spokeswoman Michaela Richterová announced the search on Friday. Exactly where it happened has not been specified.
Because of severe injuries to the head and body, her identity could not be established. A forensic examination found no sign of third-party involvement, but the woman's name remains a mystery. Investigators are pinning their hopes on the extensive tattoos covering much of her body: relatives, acquaintances or the tattoo artist may recognise their motifs. Police have shown most of the tattoos on their website, but did not publish the largest one, a guitar with angel wings across her entire back.
According to the description, the woman may have been 20–30 years old, of petite build, 155–160 cm tall, with dark blonde hair about 10 cm long. Anyone who recognises her is asked to call the 158 line immediately.
Police are investigating the case as negligent causing of death. Given the severe injuries and the exclusion of homicide, this allows for the possibility that the woman died during the transport of waste.
