The body found in the Seč dam reservoir on 2 October belongs to the missing 27-year-old man. Police confirmed this on the basis of a genetic analysis. The forensic autopsy, police spokesman Tomáš Dub said, found no involvement of other persons.
The man disappeared on 27 May after a road accident: he was alone in a minor crash. According to rescuers, he was fine and did not need to be taken to hospital. But before a police patrol arrived, the man walked away, leaving his belongings, mobile phone and documents in the car.
Large-scale searches followed over the next days, but the young man could not be found. On Friday, 2 October, a canoeist paddling beneath the ruins of Oheb castle spotted the body on the surface of the Seč reservoir.
